  • Kickstarter!

Calling all tea lovers, Luponde friends and general wonderful people….we need your help! We want to bring you our delicious new Earl Grey Green Tea but your support is vital. We have launched a project on Kickstarter for this very reason and your backing would mean we can get this product on the shelves much faster. The costs involved in launching this new product are high. We have to get it delivered from the estate in Tanzania and then when it arrives in the UK we have to send it down to Kent to be blended and bagged. By getting some backing and advanced sales it would mean that all of you will be able to have it on your kitchen shelves ready for your morning cuppa a lot quicker!

We would really appreciate you sharing this project with friends and colleagues and hopefully we can increase the Luponde range and be able to bring you more fantastic flavours in the future.

    Thank you!

  • Winter Olympics!

Here at Luponde we are already sports crazy so the arrival of the Winter Olympics has been a joy! Who knew we would get so involved with events such as the double luge and ski cross (I think this must be the craziest event there). Although I will admit to growing up with a bit of an obsession with ice-skating and in particular Torvill and Dean. I remember pretending to skate around the playground acting as one of our favourite ice-skaters. These days it is not so much skating around playgrounds but evenings playing Mario and Sonic Winter Olympics on the Wii which has prepared us for Sochi 2014! Tamsin and I are particularly chuffed with our success and flair for the figure skating and curling!

There is nothing quite like an Olympic games to bring a country together and it all started this year when Jenny Jones brought home GB’s first ever medal in snowboard slopestyle last week. What an achievement and considering she only started snowboarding at 17 it makes her a great inspiration. It proves that with enough drive and ambition you can achieve great success. The same goes for Lizzy Yarnold and her Gold medal in the Skeleton. She only started in the sport aged 19 and already at 25 has won Gold. Well done to both Jenny and Lizzy!

Curling has really captured our hearts here at Luponde and we watched eagerly yesterday to see the women bring home the Bronze medal. The composure and determination the girls showed (and at such a young age) meant that they achieved what they set out to do and will come home with a medal and I am sure they can come back in four years determined to win Gold.

Here’s hoping the men will succeed in winning Gold today at 1.30pm. I know we will be glued to the TV with all our fingers and toes crossed!

You never know if I get my act together you may see me in four years at the next Winter Olympics bombing down the slopes or flying down the Skeleton run. I think I may need to make it past snow plough on the nursery slope first though! I better get that skiing holiday booked!
