  • Christmas Present Ideas

We are edging ever closer to Christmas and with our new website up and running there is now no reason not to buy an unusual and perfect gift for all of your family and friends.

Here are some of our favourites:

Our individually wrapped pyramid teabags make great stocking fillers. They enable you to try something you may not have tasted before and will make a delightful cup of tea for Christmas morning!

Gift boxes of tea: we can mix and match any of our tins of tea in a gift box to suit everyone. Why not give a gift box of 6 teabag tins - one of each of our teabag range for £54. Or try something more unusual and give a loose tea gift box with two tins, one Organic White Tea and one Golden Tips Black Tea for just £36.

Our Dunoon Fine Bone China range also makes a stunning present. Choose the design that best suits the person (spots, stars or hearts) and then the size of mug, teacup or teapot that you think would meet their tea requirements.

For the females in your life our Kiitta range would make a stunning gift. The teacups and cake plates are bright and colourful and would stand out in any kitchen.

We even cater for the non-tea drinkers with our stripy espresso cups!

Come and see us in-store where one of the team would be happy to take you through all of our tea and teaware and help you pick the perfect gift or go online where you can browse our collection easily in the comfort of your own home!

  • A day in the life of a Mo Mug

    28/11/12
    Dear diary
Today was my "Mo" funnest day ever. My drinker wrapped me up to spare me from the cold and we went for a day of fun in London!
First we took the train to Waterloo, where my drinker felt a bit parched and I provided some much needed water. After a short hop on the underground, we took in the grand sights of Piccadilly Circus. Here I supplied a peculiar concoction that tickled. It was a cold, brown, sugary liquid that popped and fizzed and weirdly had its name in bright lights upon the buildings.
We visited Fortnum & Mason next, a little tea shop of no import and bought some treats. But the real joy was seeing my place of origin, the magnificent window of Luponde. I twitched my Mo's at my friends and was delighted to see so many had moved onto exciting lives like mine. How I wished I could have bathed in one of the deliciously warming teas, alas we had to rush off to lunch.
At last, once settled in the warmth of the kitchen at home I found my true purpose. I revelled in the hot, soothing essence of an infusion of Lemon Verbena and listened to the delighted sighs of my drinker.
    What a "Mo"velous day!!
    A Day Out In Movember

    Philip Holt, November 2012

  • Movember

At Luponde we like to support charities close to our hearts and that is why last year we decided to do what we could to help support Movember.

Movember is a campaign each year where all around the world men start growing moustaches and keep them for the full 30 days of November. The aim of the charity is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Movember is particularly important to me as my father was diagnosed with Prostate cancer back in 2009 and has bravely fought and won the battle against it. The treatment he received from diagnosis through to his regular check-ups has been outstanding and as a family we felt very lucky with the amount of support we all got from the hospital and staff at the time. Cancer affects so many people and is something that I feel strongly needs as much help as possible to raise awareness and fund research. Therefore when charities and campaigns like Movember come along it is important to embrace them and get involved!

Now obviously being female, Tamsin and I could not grow a very good moustache, but we were determined to be what the Movember charities call a ‘Mo Sista’!

According Movember’s website: a Mo Sista is essentially a woman who loves a Mo. An individual that is dedicated to supporting the Mo Bros in her life through their moustache growing journey; whether it be a friend, colleague, family member or partner. These inspirational women are committed to raising awareness of men's health issues and much needed funds for men's health along the way.

    Luponde's Movember Mugs

So as way of support we sell funky and unusual moustache mugs and with every purchase made we donate £1 of that to Movember. They make a fantastic gift for someone who is embarking upon the moustache mission, or another one of us Mo Sistas! So make sure you pop into the store or visit us online to pick the moustache mug that takes your fancy and know that you have contributed to this remarkable campaign.

Choose between feisty Fu-Magnum, ambiguous Mustafa-Chaplin and cheeky Maurice-Poirot. The feisty Fu-Magnum is my particular favourite!
